APPOINTMENTS
Signing in at our Reception Desk
When you arrive at our front desk for an appointment, please be sure to verify that we have your current insurance or billing information. Bring your insurance card and a photo ID with you and present it at the time of an appointment. Know your health plan.
Missed or cancelled appointments
It is our goal to provide timely access to our services and to adjust our schedule when necessary to try and provide as much access as possible to clinic appointments. We consider your appointment with us to be an important commitment to you and ask that you assist us by letting us know as early as possible if you must cancel or reschedule your appointment. Though we understand that at times missing an appointment is unavoidable, repeated missed appointments may result in discharge from our practice. Please let us know if an appointment will be missed.
Patient Tardiness
We understand that occasionally delays will lead to arriving tardy to an appointment. However, as we make every effort to see you on time, we must ask that you call our office if you anticipate being late for an appointment. For patients showing up later than 15 minutes, we may have to reschedule the visit to the next available time so that we can be punctual to our next appointment.
Patient Wait Time
Dr. Jinich makes every effort to be punctual. We value your time and do our best to attend to your needs in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, emergencies, or unforeseen complications may delay your appointment. If we are not on schedule, we will notify you if possible before your appointment time and appreciate it if you could inform us if you are pressed for time so we may make every effort to accommodate your needs. Let us know at the time you sign in at our front desk if you are unable to wait beyond your scheduled appointment.
Billing Policies
We accept most insurance plans and will normally bill all plans that we participate
in. We do request that co-payments be paid at the time of service as required
by your health plan. We must request payment in full at the time of service
if you do not have health insurance, or are not enrolled in one of the many
plans we participate with. We are willing to provide necessary paperwork to
you which may facilitate reimbursement from your health plan.
The best way to avoid problems with your account is good communication. One
of the most frustrating aspects of health care is sorting out and resolving
payment issues with health insurance plans. Plans and benefits change, medical
bills may not get processed in a timely manner. We urge you to communicate with
us if you do not understand a medical bill and also to be persistent when dealing
with insurance companies so that you are fairly reimbursed for your medical
expenses. Please contact our office manager if you have questions or concerns
with regards to paying for our services. We will do our best to be fair and
flexible taking into account our fiduciary responsibilities.
Prescription Refills
Requests for medication refills require planning on your part. Please avoid waiting until you are totally out of your medicine before calling us. Please avoid waiting until the last moment on Friday afternoon to make these requests. It may take up to 48 hrs. from the time we receive your request for a refill until we are able to verify your medical record and contact your pharmacy. We cannot refill medications after hours as we will not have access to your medical records. We will not refill requests for narcotics or other addicting medications if these are lost, misplaced, dropped in the sink, or packed in a suitcase. We take our responsibility of providing you with medications very seriously and will do our best to protect all involved from misuse.
Referral Requests
Many insurance plans as well as many medical specialists require a referral for you or a family member to schedule an appointment. Most managed care plans require that a referral be made in order for any services to be paid for. Most insurance plans do not allow us to back-date referrals. Consequently it is crucial that you contact us to obtain a referral prior to scheduling an appointment with another physician. Please understand that sending a referral does not guarantee that the services will be paid for. If you are uncertain, contact your insurance plan to check what services are or are not covered. Please do not request a referral on the day of your scheduled appointment with another physician. The referral process is labor intensive and takes a lot of time. It may take days to obtain referral authorization.
We comply with all applicable Federal civil rights laws and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex.
